The 18th K-rauta in Sweden opens in Stockholm today
RAUTAKESKO LTD PRESS RELEASE 17.04.2008 AT 11.00 1(1)
Rautakesko opened its fourth K-rauta store in Stockholm at Kungens
Kurva today. The new store employs a staff of 62. The store manager
is Mikael Westerback, who has worked for K-rauta since 1996, most
recently in K-rauta Bromma. The new store is the 18th K-rauta in
Sweden.
The store area is 9,500 square metres and the selection consists of
about 22,000 products representing building equipment, tools,
gardening supplies and interior decoration.
"There is a great demand for this entire sector in the Stockholm
area. Growth in consumer sales has doubled compared with the previous
year. Establishing the fourth store in the strongly developing
retailing concentration is a great event for us this year," says Jani
Jylhä, Managing Director of K-rauta AB.
Stockholm is the area with the highest purchasing power in Sweden.
Sales to consumers now account for some 20 percent of the total
market. The proportion is increasing as business customers are
shifting more to international sourcing and direct purchases from
subcontractors. Accordingly, growing the market shares in sales to
consumer customers, above all in the Stockholm area, is becoming
increasingly important for building and home improvement chains.
