PÖYRY AWARDED ASSIGNMENT FOR BUS MASS TRANSIT SYSTEM IN BOGOTA,
COLOMBIA
Pöyry has been awarded a construction supervision contract with
Instituto de Desarrollo Urbano, Bogotá, Colombia. The value of the
assignment is about EUR 3.0 million.
The project relates to the technical, administrative, environmental
and social elements arising out of the construction of the Carrera 10
TransMilenio Bus Rapid Transit System. This project is part of the
Third Phase of the TransMilenio Bus System, which is divided into
five (5) lots; Pöyry has been awarded the supervision of lot 2.
The scope of work of Pöyry on the Carrera 10 project includes project
review, site supervision, quality management, and contract management
during construction. The services are to be carried out between June
2008 and August 2010.
Pöyry has been the client's supervisor for previous transportation
system projects since 2003 in Bogotá, Colombia. Pöyry has an
excellent track record for major transportation projects in Latin
America. Projects have been undertaken in Argentina, Brazil, Chile,
Costa Rica, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru and Venezuela.
