Neste Oil recognized for its energy and environmental excellence
Today Neste Oil has won Hart Energy's 2008 Global Energy and
Environmental Excellence Award in Alternative Fuels category. These
awards recognize companies who, through innovation and technology,
have made significant progress towards solving global energy
challenges. Winners were selected by a panel, which is an
invitation-only group comprised of 100 industry leaders in
sustainable energy solutions from across the globe.
The award was granted during the Energy Solutions Conference 2008 in
Houston. The event gathered distinguished leaders from industry,
government and academia to discuss smart solutions for today's global
energy challenges.
"With the widening gap between energy supply and demand, the need for
sustainable resources is more urgent than ever," said Kristine
Klavers, Vice President, Hart Energy Consulting. "We want to
recognize those who are positively impacting our global energy
outlook by creating innovative technologies and smarter solutions.
These companies are changing the face of our industry, and we are
honored to award them for their achievements."
"Neste Oil has been the leader in energy and environment solutions
since 1990's and their latest technology to produce the NExBTL
renewable diesel is a new innovation to continue their clean fuel
strategy implementation", said Sandrine Dixon-Decleve, Executive
Director, Hart Energy.
"Neste Oil's premium-quality NExBTL renewable diesel is the cleanest
diesel fuel available on the market today, and new NExBTL plants are
being built in Singapore, Rotterdam, and Porvoo. We are very pleased
to have received this type of international recognition for our
commitment and what we have achieved," says Jarmo Honkamaa, Neste

NExBTL in brief
NExBTL renewable diesel is an advanced fuel based on renewable raw
materials that performs more efficiently and has a lower level of
environmental impact than fossil diesel or FAME-type biodiesel. Neste
Oil requires its raw material suppliers to observe a responsible
approach to sustainability. Feedstock of this type ensures that
NExBTL renewable diesel has a 40-60% lower level of greenhouse gas
emissions over its entire lifecycle compared to fossil diesel. NExBTL
renewable diesel can be blended with conventional diesel fuel or used
as such, and is suitable for all diesel engines.
