28 mei 2009 PÖYRY PLC Press Release 28 May 2009 at 11.00 a.m. PÖYRY AWARDED TWO ROAD PROJECT DESIGN ASSIGNMENTS IN FINLAND Pöyry has been commissioned by the Finnish Road Administration for two design contracts for road projects in Southern Finland. The projects involve upgrading a 15-kilometre section of Highway 7 to motorway in the vicinity of Hamina and construction of an 11-kilometre section of Highway 8 to motorway between Raisio and Nousiainen. Pöyry's share of the assignments amounts to about EUR 2 million. Pöyry implements the Highway 7 construction design together with Sito and Ramboll. The design will be completed by the end of 2011. The Highway 8 project is carried out in cooperation with Sito. The project comprises the road plan and ground surveys. Pöyry has drawn up a general plan for this road section in 2006. Both roads are important in improving traffic connections in Southern Finland - they reduce journey times, improve reliability and predictability of transportation and reduce transport costs. Highway 7 is part of the E18 motorway, one of Finland's most important international connections, providing a link between Scandinavia and Russia.
