Winners of the International Fine Arts Competition

The world's largest fine arts competition for children and young people, organised by cooperative banks, had its 40th anniversary this year, with the prizes awarded on 2 July 2010 in Finland. About a million entries were received from around Europe - Italy, Austria, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland and Finland. Winners of the Finnish National Fine Arts Competition were already awarded on 26 May and their works represented Finland in the international competition. Last time the final was arranged in Finland was in 2003. In 2010 the competition was titled "We have our own view of the climate!" There were four categories in the competition: the 6-to-9-year-olds and 9-to-10-year olds approached the subject through personal impressions and environmentally conscious action they had taken themselves; the 11-to-14-year-olds focused on the future outlook of climate issues; while the 15-to18-year-olds were challenged to design an environmental protection campaign. The winners of each category had first won their national competition with tens of thousands of works sent in.  This is the fourth time Lisa Moll, winner of the 15-to-18-year category, has been in the international final. 6-to-8-year-olds Kaya Dimmler, Switzerland 9-to-10-year-olds Florian Eirerreich, Germany 11-to-14-year-olds Giulia Arguello, Switzerland 15-to-18-year-olds Lisa Moll, Germany OP-Pohjola Group has participated in the competition 34 times. The Fine Arts Competition's theme of climate is well-suited to Finland, as nature has always been a source of Finnish creativity, whether it is a matter of fine arts, music, film or literature.
