The biotech company MediGene AG (Frankfurt, Prime Standard) has signed an exclusive license and supply agreement with the Canadian company Triton Pharma Inc. for the supply and commercialization of Veregen® ointment for the treatment of genital warts in Canada. Triton will be responsible for the drug approval procedure in Canada. MediGene is entitled to successive payments totaling up to 2.1 million euros, due upon the achievement of set milestones, and will obtain royalties on the sales revenue generated with Veregen® in the form of a double-digit percentage share. Sinecatechins 15 % ointment (Veregen®) is now also recommended as a treatment option in the US Department of Health and Human Services Center for Disease Control and Prevention's the Sexually Transmitted Diseases Treatment Guidelines 2010 for the treatment of genital warts.
