Pohjola Insurance Acquires Excenta Specialising in Corporate Wellness

Pohjola Insurance Ltd has acquired Excenta, a strategic corporate wellness services provider, from its management and Elisa Corporation. This acquisition will strengthen Pohjola's new wellbeing business and diversify Pohjola Health Ltd's services for corporate customers. As one of the leading corporate wellbeing services providers in Finland, Excenta provides its corporate customers with wellness management consulting services, training for supervisors and managers, and offers wellbeing measurement tools and practical solutions for the enhancement of employee wellbeing. With a staff of 30 corporate wellness experts and net sales of around 2 million euros in 2010, the company has some 100 customers, 48 of which are large corporations. - At the beginning of 2011, Pohjola branched out into the wellbeing-at-work business by establishing Pohjola Health Ltd which provides corporate customers with expert services related to the analysis, management and measurement of wellbeing at work. Through this acquisition, we had it in mind to strengthen our expertise and diversify the range of services for our customers, says Jouko Pölönen, President of Pohjola Insurance Ltd. Pohjola Health's team of experts in charge of customers' employee wellbeing development boasts diverse skills and experience in HR management, occupational healthcare, financial analyses and non-life and pension insurance. - Enabled by this acquisition, we will build a robust package of services. Pohjola Health Ltd has promising growth prospects and we are pleased to have more wellbeing experts in our payroll. Excenta's expertise supplements finely with ours, for example, through wellbeing surveys and by strengthening the scientific basis by conducting an annual "Strategisen hyvinvoinnin tila Suomessa" survey (Strategic wellness in Finland), states Veli-Matti Qvintus, CEO, Pohjola Health Ltd. - This acquisition enables Excenta to offer its expertise within an organisation with larger resources while providing the opportunity to grow faster as part of OP-Pohjola than being an independent company. This is also a great opportunity to our employees who will join Pohjola's payroll. At OP-Pohjola, they will also have more scope for skill enhancement and job enrichment, says Topi Valtakoski, Managing Director, Excenta Oy.
