Martha Heitzmann Crawford and Renuka Uppaluri are appointed Board members of Altran

The shareholders of Altran Technologies appointed Martha Heitzmann Crawford and Renuka Uppaluri as Directors during the General Meeting held on April 29, 2016. These appointments reflect Altran's decision to expand, feminize and internationalize its Board of Directors.

Martha Heitzmann Crawford, 48, holds both French and US citizenship. She earned her PhD in Environmental and Chemical Engineering at Harvard University and an MBA from the Collège des Ingénieurs (Paris). From 1991 to 1999, she held several positions in environmental infrastructure and technology at the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. She then became principal administrator of the Performance and Environmental information division of the OECD until 2007. She was then appointed Director of Global Research and Development of the Air Liquide Group. From 2011 to 2014, she was Director of Research, Development and Innovation of Areva, where she also served as a member of the Executive Committee. Since April 2014, she has been an R&D and strategy consultant for companies and governments. In July 2016 she will join the faculty of Harvard Business School as a specialist in technology, innovation and product development. Martha Heitzmann Crawford is a Knight of the French National Order of Merit. In 2013, she was named "Woman of the Year in R&D" by the magazine L'Usine Nouvelle.

Renuka Uppaluri, 44, a US citizen, has been senior vice president for Research and Development of Alere, global leader in point of care diagnostics, in California since February 2015. She earned her PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Iowa. From 1997 to 1999, she was a postdoctoral researcher in radiology at the University of Iowa. From 2009 to 2015, she was Vice President Global R&D for Covidien, a leading medical technology and solutions company in Colorado. In her role, she led more than 350 employees in seven countries. During this period, the organization launched several new products and made five acquisitions. From 2007 to 2009, Renuka Uppaluri was the General Manager for the Global Engineering division of GE Healthcare Technologies in Wisconsin. During her 10 years at GE Healthcare Technologies, she held various positions in R&D.
