Day's CQ, the first Java Content Repository (JCR)-based content management solution, supports all types of content within an enterprise. Now, global companies are able to easily integrate their business content with the functionality of CQ within their SAP NetWeaver enterprise portal environment. Based on the solution's out-of-the-box portlets, Day's CQ allows dynamic access to content stored within SAP-specific portlets called "iViews". As a result, SAP portal content is complimented using relevant information from Day's CRX, CQ's native content repository implementing the JCR (Content Repository for Java Technology API). Complex, role-based editorial processes within dynamic workflows can now take place within the enterprise portal as well. In addition, the SAP NetWeaver portal can be extended through content-based applications, such as CQ Advanced Collaboration (AC), to provide additional benefits, including: * Support for consistent presentation via the themes (look and feel) of the SAP portal * Added support for multilingual, inter-portlet communications, content sharing, personalization and SSO (Single Sign On) via LDAP connections Day's technology allows companies to access their most valuable assets - information about their specific businesses, processes, products, customers and documents, which were previously 'locked' in proprietary repositories. Working with industry leaders such as EMC, IBM, SUN and Oracle, Day initiated and drove industry adoption of the standard for content access, JSR 170. Under the leadership of Day's CTO, David Nuescheler, JSR 283 (version 2.0 of the Content Repository for Java Technology API), has successfully cleared Public Review. The next version of the standard will help to further improve the interoperability of content applications and content repositories.
