Pirkka and the Culinary Team of Finland start cooperation
KESKO FOOD LTD PRESS RELEASE 17.08.2011 AT 09.00 1(1)
K-food stores with their Pirkka products and Kespro with its Menu products start
cooperation with the Culinary Team of Finland (CTOF). For years, K-food stores
have been building the Finnish food competence and culture, and cooperation with
the CTOF provides new kinds of opportunities for that. The CTOF will represent
Finland in international competitions and its patron is President Martti
Ahtisaari.
"K-food stores have a diverse, tested and wide supply of recipes. Thanks to the
cooperation, we will be able us to offer consumers recipes and tips that are
suitable for home kitchens and have been developed by top chefs. Just as the
CTOF, we want to provide consumers with food experiences, to inspire and guide
them to use pure Finnish ingredients, to act as an ambassador of good food and
encourage people to eat together. The Pirkka products used in recipes are
available for consumers in K-food stores throughout Finland. Our objective is to
make use of the top chefs' expertise in the product development of the Pirkka
range, too," says Ari Rissanen, Marketing Manager of Kesko Food.
"As Kespro is the leading wholesaler in the hotels, restaurants and catering
sector, it's natural for us to cooperate with the CTOF. The team will provide
its expert knowledge for Kespro's product and selection development,
particularly for the Menu product range that is designed for professional
kitchens. Cooperation will also benefit our recipe development," says Osmo
Pyhtinen, Sales Director of Kespro.
The CTOF which consists of thirteen top chefs is led by Tapio Laine. The team
expects much from cooperation:
"Our duty in Finland is to inspire the whole nation by sharing inspiring and
simple cooking knowledge, recipes, tips and advice. Cooperation with such
significant players as K-food stores and Kespro offers us wide and comprehensive
channels for reaching both Finnish consumers and professional kitchens and for
sharing our competence, encouraging people to cook and use domestic ingredients
and organic products," says Nils-Gustav Höglund, Project Manager of the CTOF.
