V6C 0B2 Telephone: (604) 678-5308 Fax: (604) 678-5309 TSXV: BTR FSE: 9BR Vancouver, BC - October 4, 2011:  BonTerra Resources Inc. (TSX.V: BTR)(FSE: 9BR) (the "Company", "BonTerra"), has discovered a new high grade vein zone (the "Rivage Zone") on the Eastern Extension Property (the "Property). The Rivage Zone discovery, a mineralized quartz vein which assayed 204.00 grams/tonne ("g/t") gold and 25.80 g/t silver, taken from surface outcrop sampling, represents the highest gold grade discovered to date on the property.  The Property is located in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, approximately 170 kilometres ("km") northeast of Val d'Or, Québec. Mitchell Adam, President of BonTerra, states, "Consistently excellent results from our 2010-2011 exploration program on the Property have clearly demonstrated the strength of the area, our team and work programs. This new discovery, 700 metres from the current drilling area has grown the size and scope of this project with the intent to create a potential 1.2 km strike length." Sample results from the newly discovered Rivage Zone are shown in Table 1, with sample coordinates set out in Table 2. Table 1: Assay Results of the Newly Discovered Rivage Zone +---------+--------+--------+------+------+ | Sample | Gold | Silver | Lead | Zinc | | Number | (g/t) | (g/t) | (%) | (%) | +---------+--------+--------+------+------+ | L282510 | 204.00 | 25.80 | 0.68 | 0.17 | +---------+--------+--------+------+------+ Geological Characteristics of the Gold Bearing Veins on the Property The target for all drilling on the Property is smoky quartz veins mineralized with sulphides (pyrite, pyrrhotite & chalcopyrite ± sphalerite ± visible gold). Sulphides commonly compose 1-10% of the mineralized zones and can be as high as 30% locally. Alteration is most commonly silica, carbonate, chlorite, tourmaline and sericite. The combination of quartz veins, tourmaline, alteration types and sulphides is ideal for gold mineralization in the area. Sphalerite present in the quartz veins appears to be associated with the highest grade gold zones on the property to date. Qualified Person This technical content of this press release has been reviewed and accepted by Thomas Clarke, Pr.Sci.Nat., a Director of BonTerra. Mr. Clarke is a Qualified Person under NI 43-101. This is a sample result. The sample was taken from an outcrop of the mineralized vein and is representative of the vein. Samples were submitted to ALS Chemex of Val d'Or, Quebec for crushing, pulverizing and fire-assay for gold. Samples fire-assaying greater than 10 grams per tonne gold are then fire-assayed with a gravimetric finish. The Company applies a full quality assurance and quality control program (QAQC) system for every batch of samples submitted to the lab (gold standard, field duplicate and blank).
