To improve the online experience and services for our passengers and further benefit from digital opportunities, a new global organisation for passenger marketing and sales has been announced.
The new organisation, starting in October 2017, will replace the current country based model. As a next big step 17 current passenger websites will be unified at dfds.com at the beginning of 2018.
More than 80% of DFDS' passengers book and purchase their trips online and the demand for easy and high quality online purchases and services is set to increase. The new organisation will strengthen the ability to both meet this demand and attract passengers to the route network as well as increase efficiency in sales.
20% of DFDS' revenue comes from passengers
More than 5 million passengers travel with DFDS every year in our route network connecting northern European countries.
The biggest, and shortest, crossing is on the Channel between the UK and France with 3.5 million passengers. Between the UK and the Netherlands 600,000 passengers travel with DFDS.
In Scandinavia and the Baltics, the cruise ferry route between Denmark and Norway annually attracts 750,000 passengers and more than 200,000 passengers travel with DFDS across the Baltic Sea between Sweden and Lithuania, Sweden and Estonia as well as Germany and Lithuania. A new route between Finland and Estonia that also transports passengers was added to the network last year.
